Ministry of Tourism, Labour, Civil Aviation and Urban Development

Welcome to the official page of the Ministry of Tourism; Civil Aviation & International Transport; Employment & Labour; and Urban Development of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Under the guidance of the Honourable Marsha Tamika Henderson, this Ministry brings together four vital portfolios — tourism, civil aviation and international transport, employment and labour, and urban development — to chart a course for sustainable growth, social inclusion, and modern infrastructure.

By uniting these areas, the Ministry ensures that our global engagement through tourism and transport aligns with domestic priorities of job creation, workplace rights, and urban renewal. Together, these functions build not just a dynamic destination, but a resilient society and a thriving built-environment for all Kittitians and Nevisians.

Under the leadership of Honourable Marsha Tamika Henderson, this integrated Ministry is committed to linking tourism and transport with human development and urban renewal. It pursues a vision of St. Kitts and Nevis that is globally accessible, economically strong, socially fair, and built on sustainable foundations.

Ministry of Tourism

The Tourism division leads the expansion and diversification of the Federation’s visitor economy. It promotes the unique natural beauty, culture, and heritage of St. Kitts and Nevis while enhancing visitor experience, extending seasonality, and ensuring that tourism benefits the local community and environment alike.

Ministry of Civil Aviation & International Transport

This department manages the federation’s air and international transport links, including civil aviation policy, bilateral agreements, infrastructure development, and regulatory oversight. It seeks to broaden connectivity, improve access, and buttress national competitiveness by ensuring seamless, safe and global transport services.

Ministry of Employment & Labour

The Employment & Labour division is tasked with fostering fair workplaces, promoting job creation, supporting workforce development, and protecting workers’ rights. It aligns labour policies with economic opportunities, ensuring that growth is inclusive and that every citizen has the chance to participate meaningfully in national progress.

Ministry of Urban Development

The Urban Development portfolio focuses on planning, modernizing, and revitalizing the built environment of the Federation. From infrastructure upgrades and housing to sustainable neighborhoods and public spaces, this department works to ensure our towns and cities support a quality of life worthy of our people and ambitions.

St. Kitts was once known as the Gibraltar of the West Indies for its domination of 18th- century colonial battles. How the island rose to become the world’s leader in sugarcane cultivation, an inspiration for the industrial revolution in the process.
