Cricket

Cricket is the national sport of St. Kitts and Nevis. The whole country practically shuts down for a major cricket match. SKN has a national Caribbean Premier League team, The Patriots.

Horse- & Drag Racing

Beaumont Park in St. Kitts is in operation as a horseracing track. And on Nevis, a drag racing track in New River is designed to become the premier track in the Caribbean.

Soccer/Football

Footballers (soccer players) are doing so well here that major North American Major League Soccer teams are scouting players from SKN.

Basketball

St. Kitts Amateur Basketball Association (SKABA) is progressing basketball teams and players in St. Kitts and Nevis.  Basketball courts are increasing and becoming better equipped with updated nets and backboards.

ENTERTAINMENT

Carnival  (From Christmas Eve to the 1st of January)

The celebration of carnival in St. Kitts is like no other.  Due to its being held in this Caribbean nation in December, the festivities associated with Christmas is blended, bursting forth an unimaginable display of the Kittitian and Nevisian cultural presence composed of a spirited African heritage.

Activities include locals as well as international visitors. Enjoy and take part in beauty pageants, calypso shows, masquerades, street jamming, and traditional folklore, like mocko jumbies.

Movies (Basseterre, St. Kitts)

A local, movie theater chain showcases top-grossing flicks and an occasional “sleeper” films. Films are in English with traditional seating and concessions arranged similarly as in the U.S.

Music (In late June)

St. Kitts Music Festival is a world-class festival held annually. Music for everyone is featured: Soca/Calypso/Reggae/Dancehall/Steelpan and even some international flavor from the traditional, African American music culture: R&B, Hip-Hop, and Soul.
