A tradition of excellence, a reputation for support

UMHS is an independent, privately-run institution backed by more than 40 years of success in medical education. The University is fully committed to providing students with a high-quality medical education and the necessary support to ensure they become doctors.  UMHS is fully accredited by the St. Christopher (St.Kitts) and Nevis Accreditation Board.

At the forefront of healthcare instruction

UMHS’ St. Kitts campus is one of the newest and most advanced in the Caribbean. Comparable to the campuses at most top medical schools, it features modern laboratories and classrooms equipped with the latest technology.

Lower tuition by design

To minimize the burden of student debt, UMHS proudly keeps tuition significantly lower than most other offshore medical schools. The addition of financial aid, scholarships, and loans can make becoming a doctor even more affordable.

World-class medical education

UMHS is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM) – one of the highest standards of accreditation an offshore medical school can obtain. ACCM is recognized by the US Department of Education through NCFMEA to having standards of accreditation comparable to US standards.  They also have a variety of State Approvals that further enhances the reputation of UMHS.  The University’s rigorous curriculum will prepare students to become licensed physicians in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
