ST KITTS AND NEVIS’ INDEPENDENCE 40 PARADE CREATES MEMORIES FOR A LIFETIME

The Independence 40 Ceremonial Parade of St. Kitts and Nevis left a lasting impression on all who witnessed it, creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. The parade officially commenced at midnight on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, and was a truly remarkable spectacle.

The Warner Park Cricket Stadium was filled to the brim with thousands of individuals adorned in patriotic attire, waving the national flags high in the air. They came together to celebrate the momentous occasion of 40 years of achievements by the twin-island Federation.

The parade featured an impressive display of armed units from esteemed organizations including the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF), Coast Guard Unit, Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), Cadet Corps, and the Republic of China (Taiwan) Honour Guards. Additionally, unarmed units comprised the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Service (SKNFRS), His Majesty’s Prison, His Majesty’s Customs and Excise Department, Traffic Wardens, Girls Guides, Brownies, and Pathfinders. The parade was further enhanced by the presence of the SKNDF Force Band and the SKNDF Drum Corps.

The units were inspected by the distinguished Governor-General, Her Excellency Dame Marcella Liburd, and the esteemed Prime Minister, the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew. Their presence added to the grandeur of the occasion, elevating the significance of the moment for the nation.
