Patients are allowed visitors at such times and at such places within the hospital subject to the rules and regulations of the institution.

Short visits by family members and friends are an important part of your recovery. You may ask the nurse to restrict visitors if you so desire.

All Wards
Monday – Friday………………………11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday……………………10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon 2:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Special Consideration
Paediatric Ward
Parents ………………………….6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
One parent may spend the night with the child if desired.

Maternity Ward
Father of the new born………….8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Visitors are limited to immediate family and significant others and must be at least 12 years old. No more than two visitors may be in the patient’s room or at the patients bedside at any given time.

• Visitors are not permitted to bring into the hospital any unauthorised food, beverages or articles of any description. Please check with nursing staff.

• Children under twelve years of age are not permitted to visit. Exceptions may be arranged for special situations with permission from charge nurse.

• Visitors are limited to two persons at the bedside at any given time.

• Visitors time will be monitored so that you can rest as much as possible.

• Visitors must not sit on the patient’s bed and in the case of maternity no handling of babies (except father) without nurse’s permission.

• Visitors are not allowed to eat on the wards.

• During surgery, relatives may sit in the waiting area.

• Visitors are expected to conduct themselves in a dignified manner and adhere to the rules and regulations of the institution. They must be clean, tidy and appropriately dressed (hair rollers, ‘hot pants/tights’ and ‘back-outs’ are not allowed). Sandals may be worn, but no barefeet.

• No Pets are allowed.
