Ministry of Education, Youth, Social Development, Gender Affairs, Aging and Disabilities

Welcome to the Ministry of Education, Youth, Social Development, Gender Affairs, Aging and Disabilities of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Under the leadership of the The Honourable DR. GEOFFREY IAN HANLEY, these interconnected Ministries play a central role in advancing human capital, promoting equality, and fostering inclusive national growth. Guided by the vision of building an educated, empowered, and compassionate society, the Ministry integrates education, youth development, social care, faith-based engagement, and housing into one unified framework for nation-building.

Through its departments, the Ministry ensures that citizens of every age and background are supported through access to learning, opportunities for advancement, and systems that protect the vulnerable and uplift communities. Together, these efforts strengthen the social fabric of St. Kitts and Nevis and lay the foundation for sustainable national progress.

St. Kitts was once known as the Gibraltar of the West Indies for its domination of 18th- century colonial battles. How the island rose to become the world’s leader in sugarcane cultivation, an inspiration for the industrial revolution in the process.
