New Horizon Rehabilitation
The main essence of our work here at NHRC is “Change Management”, through our dedicated staff team and multitude of skills and knowledge they possess, we work collectively together to bring about change in our residents to enable them to return to their families and the community, as responsible young adults/people with a change attitude and mind set, focused and determined to put what they have learnt into action.
Therapeutic Centre for children aged 12 – 18year who are in conflict with the law or are beyond the care and control of their parents/carer. Children are committed to NHRC by the Magistrate Court for a period of 6 months to 3 years. We offer a range of programmes to address their individual needs. All residents are assessed, it these categories: Education, Physical and Mental Health well being and family, a rehabilitative care plan is created on the results of the care plan, which direct the NHRC staff and other stakeholder, i.e Probation and child Protection Service in providing the best service to meet their needs.
NHRC works with a multitude of Departments across the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, these include: PCPS, Gender Affairs, Ministry of Education, Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Sustainable Development and National Skills in providing a range of programmes and services to our residents to aid their rehabilitation. We also work with the residents families, by providing family therapy, working through unchallenged issues to aid the healing of past conflicts and teaching parents how to build positive and congruent relationships with their child.
